Do you suffer from muscle cramps when you are doing Pilates? You are not alone! 😩 It's more common than you might think, and it doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong. Often, it's a sign that you're working hard (a bit too hard, perhaps), or maybe you are holding tension in the wrong area.
To try to avoid the dreaded spasms, here are a few tips:
💦 Stay hydrated - drink up before, during, and after your class
🧘♀️ Prep properly - ensure you've mobilised the joints and stretched all your muscles before the main section of the session begins
💨 Breathe and try not to tense - don't strain when going through movements. Move with control and intention
💡If you do cramp, take a rest, massage, and stretch it out. Breathe deeply, and it should ease. Your body is trying to tell you something... listen 🫶
